Photo: Cameroonian Lady Who Bought Nigerian Baby For N1.2M Apprehended

A  42-year-old Cameroonian lady, Mrs Evelyn Atemkeng, has been apprehended by Immigration officers at Calabar port while trying to escape with a three day old baby to Cameroun. According to the Immigration officers, the lady came into Nigeria on Friday by ship and returned back here on Tuesday to board a ship back to her country, but we noticed she was carrying a new born baby and decided to question her.

She claimed she gave birth to the baby three days ago in Calabar. But when a female officer examined her, she had no sign of just giving birth. So she was held back with her 70-year old mother who accompanied her to Nigeria and were reported to the right authorities. She later confessed that a matron sold the baby to her for N1.2M in Calabar.
