Hey guys, it's me again, but don't worry, i'm not here to blog about booking or tattoos or boring crap like that so soon.
No, i have more exciting news... or maybe not news if you already follow the blog of one Mr. Electric Pick, but in case you don't (seriously though, why don't you?), here's the exciting news:
Nick's already famous web comic Red Box has been made into an actual book!
You know, the kind you can sit and read with a nice cup of tea, or give to people for Christmas.
Yeah, that kind!

The book is 240 pages of hard cover goodness, with an extra 35-ish pages of extra arty awesomeness by Jesse Smith, Ben Newman, Davee Blows, Edek, Tom Haubrick, Uncle Allan and Honkey Kong.
You can get all that for 465 Hong Kong dollars, which converts roughly into 60 us dollars, 47 euro, and 38 uk pounds, and you can order via info@clandestinerepublic.com.

Hey all, we're back from the most amazing convention weekend ever.
Don't worry, you didn't miss Allan at any tattoo convention, cause i'm talking about the friggin Star Trek convention we just attended in good old London town!
Oh, come on, it's not like you didn't already know we were huge nerds, right?

So yeah, we're back, completely broke, but so happy, and a few priceless autographs and moments richer!
Oh, and Sarah got to show Kate Mulgrew her Captain Janeway tattoo that Allan did on her this summer.
Through tights, but still, she did see it, and from what we heard, she was very impressed!

More Trek stories over on my blog when i've transferred pictures and maybe slept a little more... yeah, we went pretty much straight from airport to work this morning... poor Allan!

Attention København! Davee har stadig tider i denne uge, og vil også tage walk-ins, så hvis du står med en god ide, eller bare en spontan trang til at blive tatoveret (og hvem gør ikke det?!) kan du komme forbi Schleppegrellsgade 7 fra i morgen fra kl. 13 og tage en snak med ham.
Der kan forekomme lidt ventetid når det er på walk-in basis, men stadig, dette er ugens tilbud, så spred ordet og kom forbi!

Bare rolig, det behøver ikke nødvendigvis være hoved tatoveringer!

Things are really moving forward with our Berlin plans, and i can finally say that the contract is signed and the house is indeed ours.
Very exciting!
I am working on getting a bunch of practical stuff done before we leave for Japan in less than a week (Allan has a few appointments available between the 31st and the 14th of November, so contact Inkrat if you wanna get tattooed, the email is inkrat00@yahoo.co.jp), so if you've sent me a non-urgent email, i may not be able to reply right away.
The same goes for buying flash or prints; i try to make time to go to the post office as soon after an order has been placed as i can, but that's not always possible, so if you're not prepared to let it take the time it's gonna take, don't place an order right now.

Oh, and while we're on the subject of emails, there's no need to write me about the waiting list.
It's still closed, but when it opens, i promise i won't try to keep it a secret, so just check back here every once in a while and you won't miss a thing!

Faces of total awesomeness

Man, it sure is going slow with the blogging these days (my personal blog is suffering even worse than this one), but there's nothing slow about August at the shop!

We have a house full of awesome guests and guest artists, and on top of that, we had the black metal art show on Saturday, and seriously, just wow... i can't even express how awesome that was, and how grateful we are to the people (many people!) that showed up.

We had such a fun evening, and it was such a pleasure showing Allan's paintings, and our redecorated-for-the-occasion shop, to friends and clients and total strangers alike.

Ok, so the first half hour or so, i was taking pictures non stop with three different cameras, hell bent on documenting the occasion, but then people started to drink... and obviously i was in charge of keeping the beers coming while Allan and Lucifer mingled, so all of a sudden, the documenting kinda stopped!
So you'll just have to take my word for it; the shop and sidewalk was totally packed, and people seemed to have fun, like at a real party! Only with an all black metal soundtrack, of course. So yeah, who cares if i didn't get that many pictures.
In a way it was almost like we got to have the opening party we never got around to throwing two years ago, cause stuff kept going wrong back then. I hope it won't be our last party!

Pictures of all the paintings are gonna be up on Allan's blog real soon (i think he's in the process of editing now) and those that aren't sold yet will be for sale, so check up on that soon.
We also have a few t-shirts left from our very limited run made just for the show, and they'll be for sale too soon!

You know how i always let you know well in advance when we have a guest artist coming so you have a chance to book in with them?

Yeah, sometimes i don't do that.

I already knew a while back that our friend Sarah B. Bolen, who lives in Berlin, was coming for a visit and we'd arranged for her to work at the shop for a few days, but since she'd already booked her weekend a good while back, i didn't wanna post about it here and make it seem like she had time for more tattoos.

And now i feel bad!

But she's already making plans to come back soon, and i promise i'll let you know when she does.

I was just about to give myself a hard time for not having had the time to take more pictures on Saturday, but now that i'm uploading the ones i did take, i'm almost glad i didn't!
I'm not gonna get too much into details about Halloween Walk-in Day, cause if you wanted to know, well, then you could have just dropped by, couldn't you?
But i will say that we me, Allan, Chriss and our guests had a wonderful day.
The shop looked awesome, pretty much everyone who came were dressed up in great costumes, we ate a ton of snacks, the mood was nice and relaxing, and everyone who wanted to get tattooed got tattooed.*
But if you missed it, don't worry; this will definitely not be our last Halloween event.

And we're back

Oh hi, it's been a while, huh!?
We came back from our awesome, amazing, sunny* yearly vacation on monday, and we've spent the last two days working on getting back into, well, working.
Yesterday was rough, too many emails and too much mess, but today it's starting to seem easier, and i'm almost excited to back at the shop. Almost. We'll get there.

Well, i didn't just start writing a blog post just to tell you about my day, although i'm sure you find it thrilling, i do actually have a few announcements and stuff.

Adam just arrived today, like minutes ago, and we're already putting him to work on fixing our thermofax. But he will be tattooing as well, and he is actually booked for the days we announced here on the blog, but since it looks like he'll be able to stick around for a few more days, there are still a few spots available.
If you're interested, send me an email (address in in the sidebar to your right) or come by the shop, and i'll see what i can do to fit you in.

Also, in other guest related news; our buddy Kiley (i don't actually think he has a website, but here's a facebook link for now) will be coming by to work at the shop for a week from September 12th.
He already has clients here in Copenhagen, so if you're one of them, or would like to be, send him a mail at thetruesoul@hotmail.co.uk to set something up.

Oh, and i wanted to write a little something about the Red Cross prints, how awesome that whole project went, and obviously how much money you guys helped us raise for them, but since i don't have the exact figure here, i'll save that for a future post.
But i will say that while the Red Cross has closed off the part of their fundraising that goes straight to Japan, we are still selling the rest of the prints and donating the money to another worthy cause, but we will let you know about that later.

Hail Satan... and birthday cake!

As promised in the last post: costume pictures (or a sort)!

For Allan's birthday last month Eckel got the great idea to surprise him with a black metal themed barbecue.
Allan and our friends had thrown me a surprise party, my first ever, a few days earlier, and because of that, it all of a sudden seemed kinda lame to just have a barbeque like he'd asked for.
So, he already knew of the barbeque part, but i (cleverly i must say) got him to stay home a little longer while we "decorated the shop", while in fact, as you can see, we where decorating our faces with some sick-ass corpse paint... and cow paint... and pentagrams... and skulls... and Peter Kriss...!?
Anyway, when he arrived we were barbequing in the street outside the shop, all dressed up, and yes, he was surprised!

Allan had a great birthday, and he enjoyed the corpse paint so much that he even kept it on for the bike ride home (ok, i did too... it's super fun!)

I don't think we've even used the Dancook 7200 since this wonderful night, but in our defense, we've been out of town on the sunny days, and the rest of the time, the weather has been shit.
